These paintings investigate what remains.
What was taken from Egypt and what was left behind. What is buried in the ground and what rises from the river. What exists inside the country that the world has not yet learned to see.
Each work begins with research — in museum collections, in temple complexes, in the precise histories of objects that have travelled far from the places that made them. The canvas becomes a site where that research takes physical form: through layered texture, incised marks, and the particular weight of paint applied to a surface intended to hold time.
The practice is organised into three bodies of work. They are related not by style but by question.
